Demolition of Town Hall
CLIENT BRIEF
Amstech were employed by Crawley Borough Council to undertake the destructive Pre Demolition survey of Crawley Town Hall. The aim was to identify all ACM’s (asbestos containing
materials) within 1970’s built public building. The town hall is an extensive building over 7 floors. The brief was to undertake and report back in compliance with HSE guidance all risks to allow the
demolition to take place. This was a phased project over a 3 year period.

Amstech worked closely with the client and other contractors on this project in an
agreed phased manner.
The council were provided with a direct point of contact project manager to ensure
continuity as multiple teams were deployed on the site.
We created a phasing plan with the council to enable demolition of phase one to
take place where their new facility has since been constructed.
Phase 2 surveys were undertaken early in 2024 and Amstech are continuing to liaise
with the council and demolition contractors until completion by January 2025.
PROJECT RESULT
Phase 1 survey and demolition was completed with the client and demolition
contractor satisfied we had forfilled our initial brief.
Phase 2 surveys are out to tender for asbestos removal and demolition with
Amstech assisting the council at all stages until completion.
